Features and Benefits

The primary feature of the SBC SD1-2257R-12 Clutch Kit is its versatility, offering options for organic, ceramic, and Kevlar friction materials. Each material provides unique benefits:

  • Organic: Ideal for daily driving and moderate performance applications, organic friction material offers smooth engagement and excellent drivability.
  • Ceramic: Designed for high-performance applications, ceramic friction material provides superior heat resistance and increased torque capacity.
  • Kevlar: Offering a balance between longevity and performance, Kevlar friction material is durable and capable of handling a wide range of driving demands.

The clutch kits are available in Stage 1 and Stage 2 configurations, allowing drivers to choose the level of performance that best suits their vehicle and driving style. Stage 1 is tailored for daily driving with occasional spirited use, offering enhanced performance over stock clutches without sacrificing drivability. Stage 2 is designed for more aggressive driving and performance applications, providing increased torque capacity and durability for those who demand more from their vehicle.

Each kit includes a single disc, with options for full face or 6-paddle disc styles. The full face disc offers smooth engagement and is well-suited for daily driving and moderate performance use. The 6-paddle disc, on the other hand, is designed for more aggressive applications, providing quicker engagement and higher torque capacity.

South Bend Clutch kits are designed with the driver in mind, incorporating features that enhance the installation and use of our products. These features include a diaphragm pressure plate style for consistent pedal feel, sprung hub-style to reduce drivetrain shock during engagement, and inclusion of necessary components such as throw-out bearing, alignment tool, and pilot bushing made of durable steel. Each of these elements is carefully chosen to ensure the highest quality and performance of our clutch kits.
