Quick answers
Common questions
Which tuning device do I need?
Use the compatible-platform and requirements information on the Tune Shop product page. Contact support before ordering if you already own a device or are unsure which generation is supported.
How do I connect my device?
Use the platform guide for your exact device. Connect securely to OBD-II, keep the engine off during setup/programming, and follow the app or device ignition prompts.
How do I receive my tune?
TDN and EZ LYNK deliver files through their connected services. EFI Live files are transferred to AutoCal using the workflow supplied by The Tune Shop.
How long does a vehicle read take?
Read time varies by controller, vehicle, connection, and required updates. Do not interrupt the operation; plan enough time to remain with the vehicle until completion.
Can I drive while a tune is being created?
After a requested read is complete and the vehicle is safely returned to its prior operating state, normal driving may be possible. Never drive during a read, flash, or device-directed key cycle.
What are HP Tuners credits?
Credits license a supported vehicle or controller to an HP Tuners interface. They are not the tune itself. Required quantities are shown on the applicable Tune Shop product.
What is an EFI Live VIN license?
A VIN license permits supported controller programming with AutoCal. Requirements vary, and the Tune Shop product page determines the quantity for your application.
What is an EZ LYNK token?
Tokens are used for EZ LYNK access/licensing options. They are separate from the tuning service; use the quantity and access term shown on the Tune Shop product page.
How do I send a datalog?
Record using the platform workflow requested by The Tune Shop, include notes describing the test and conditions, then sync or transfer the saved log through TDN, EZ LYNK, or EFI Live.
My device will not connect. What should I do?
Verify ignition position, OBD-II connection, battery condition, phone permissions, and the correct wireless or USB connection. Search the exact displayed message before retrying.
My flash failed. What should I do?
Do not repeatedly retry or disconnect power without guidance. Record the exact error, take a screenshot, preserve battery voltage, and contact The Tune Shop with vehicle and device details.
Can I unplug the device during a flash?
No. Do not unplug the interface, start the engine, or change ignition state unless the app or device explicitly instructs you.
How do I contact The Tune Shop?
Use the Help Center support button. Include your order number, vehicle year/make/model, tuning device, exact error, screenshot, and what operation was underway.
