Compatible with TREMEC T5 and Muncie M21 transmissions, our clutch kits promise enhanced performance, durability, and reliability for an ultimate driving experience. Upgrade your classic American muscle car with South Bend Clutch – where innovation meets performance.
Our Clutch Kit is designed to enhance the driving experience of your Chevrolet Camaro, Pontiac Firebird, Chevrolet Corvette, Pontiac GTO, and Pontiac LeMans, catering to a variety of models within the 1970-1992 production years. This broad compatibility ensures that enthusiasts and professionals alike can enjoy the benefits of a South Bend Clutch system in their classic American muscle car.
The SBC Clutch Kit includes options for both Organic and Ceramic friction materials, allowing for customization based on your driving needs. Whether you're looking for a clutch that supports daily driving with enhanced performance or a more aggressive setup for racing and extreme applications, our clutch kits are tailored to meet those needs. Our Stage 1 and Stage 2 options further allow drivers to select the perfect balance of performance, durability, and drivability.
Performance and Durability
Our Organic material options are designed for smooth engagement and improved durability over stock clutch systems. This makes them an excellent choice for daily driving and moderate performance applications. The full-face disc design ensures consistent contact with the flywheel, reducing hot spots and extending the life of the clutch.
For those requiring a clutch capable of handling higher torque and more aggressive driving conditions, our Ceramic friction material provides exceptional heat resistance and faster recovery from high-temperature conditions. The 6-paddle disc style of our Ceramic option offers increased grip and strength, ideal for racing or high-performance street applications.
Engineered for Excellence
Each component of our clutch kits is meticulously engineered and tested to ensure flawless performance and reliability. The inclusion of a sprung hub design helps to reduce drivetrain shock and is particularly beneficial in vehicles with high torque outputs, protecting the transmission and other driveline components from damage.
Our clutch kits are designed to work with the OEM flywheel, ensuring a seamless fit and simplifying the installation process. While the kit does not include a flywheel, it is equipped with all necessary components for installation, including a throw-out bearing, alignment tool, and, in some cases, a pilot bushing made of durable steel, ensuring that you have everything needed for a successful clutch system overhaul.
Compatibility and Installation
Designed specifically for TREMEC T5 and Muncie M21 transmissions, our clutch kits ensure compatibility with a wide range of vehicles beyond the Chevrolet Camaro. This includes various models of the Pontiac Firebird, Chevrolet Corvette, Pontiac GTO, and Pontiac LeMans, covering a significant span of production years and specifications.
The inclusion of detailed installation components, such as the throw-out bearing, alignment tool, and pilot bushing, underscores our commitment to providing not just parts but comprehensive solutions. This approach ensures that from unpacking to installation, the process is as streamlined and efficient as possible, minimizing downtime and getting you back on the road faster.
